We Say Goodbye To This Loved Montana Legend. Rest In Peace Friend
When a community as close as Bozeman loses one of its best, everyone feels the loss. Anyone who has been around Bozeman for a significant amount of time definitely knows our friend Buzzard Wilder.
Dennis Claude Dungan, known to everyone as Buzzard, was the kind of person who would give you anything you needed, whether it was lending an extra hand for a fundraiser, helping rake the yard, or just a smile, he was the guy you could count on.
Laughing, telling stories, and holding him, his friends Robin and Kristin, who had become family, made his last moments on earth as beautiful as his paintings.
"I Dream Of Painting, And Then I Paint My Dream" -Vincent Van Gough
Known mostly for his love of painting, Buzzard was famous for his window art in Bozeman. He was constantly coming up with ways to make Bozeman the most beautiful town with the stroke of a brush.
You saw him around downtown. He painted shop windows for businesses downtown, riding his bike and then a scooter when he had hip issues, he even helped us one year with Can The Griz when we were collecting at our studios and he even cleared sidewalks of ice so all of us could walk safely. He was always doing something for our community as a man of limited means. He was so beloved that HRDC helped him find housing and helped him with just about all of his needs. Even with his struggles for day-to-day survival, Buzzard was always doing what he loved best – painting. -Ann L.
Sadly, we lost Buzzard to his battle with cancer at the age of 72, and the community will not be the same. He constantly gave back to us; now it's our time to give back to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Wild Joe's on Tuesday, November 29th between 6pm-9pm. At 7 pm, friends will be telling their Buzzard stories.
GO FUND ME FOR OUR FRIEND, BUZZARD
Buzzard, along with his family, including his Bozeman family, will need help with his end-of-life expenses. As we know, this is a large cost, and we want to make sure that Buzzard is given the best goodbye we can give him. There are also medical expenses that we do not want to linger over the heads and hearts of the people who were constantly caring for Buzzard.
