Watch Gov. Gianforte’s State of the State Address

Montana Governor Greg Gianforte will deliver his first State of the State address this evening. He is expected to outline his legislative priorities in the House Chambers.

Traditionally all 150 lawmakers gather on the House floor with guests filling the gallery. This year there will be some modifications to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but Gianforte will still address a joint session of the Montana Legislature.  The legislature is strongly recommending lawmakers to wear masks at the Capitol, but masks are not required.

The State of the State address is customarily given once a year by the state's governor. This is very similar to the State of the Union address the President is known for giving and the State of the City address which falls of the city mayor.

Gianforte, Montana’s first Republican governor in 16 years, will also be joining Dave & Ally on the XL Morning Show on Friday at 7:20 a.m. to discuss his speech Thursday night.
