You may have heard the commercials on the radio about how the Mint in Belgrade has been trying to restore the reputation it had in the past. At one time it was a wholesome family restaurant that served great food, and prided itself on great service. It went through a pretty rough phase recently, but I can say with confidence that it's back!

On Saturday, my co-worker Will & I decided to stop into the Mint for dinner. I had heard by word of mouth that the food was phenomenal. We started out with an order of Poutine that was absolutely delicious. Next up, we ordered our dinner. I chose the pan seared faroe island salmon, and Will ordered a steak. We both ordered the clam chowder as a side.

I like to think of myself as a clam chowder connoisseur. The clam chowder at the Mint in Belgrade is outstanding. Definitely the best I've had since moving to Montana. If you love good clam chowder, do yourself a favor and stop by the Mint. The chef is from Rhode Island, and the chowder is a secret family recipe. I promise that you'll love it.

The salmon that I ordered was perfectly cooked, and the rice pilaf and broccoli on the side were the perfect addition. The steak the Will ordered was cooked to perfection as well with great flavor and juiciness.

The service was also exceptional! I never had to ask a waiter to fill up my water glass. It was automatically done. The staff was extremely friendly, and they were constantly asking if we needed anything, and if we were enjoying ourselves. Overall, the experience was a great one and I'll definitely be back. If you haven't been to the Mint in Belgrade lately, what are you waiting for?

They offer 'Happy Hour' prices all day every Sunday, and kids 12 and under eat free every Monday!
