Since it was such a nice day outside, I decided to check out Roost for lunch. Roost just happened to be suggested as one of the places I need to eat at to become a local.

I'm no stranger to delicious fried chicken, but Roost may be the best fried chicken I have ever had. The menu has so much to offer. Chicken baskets, Nashville hot chicken, chicken strips, sandwiches, chicken and waffles, and many delicious sides.

I decided to get the half chicken basket. That came with FOUR pieces of chicken, two sides, and a biscuit. I decided to go with the mac and cheese and collard greens (because I love soul food that much). The mac and cheese was as creamy as it could be, the collard greens were amazing (especially since they were cooked with bacon), and the chicken was juicy and fresh. Add a glass of sweet tea, and this was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time.

I plan on going back very soon. I still have to try the Nashville hot chicken, the chicken and waffles, and the chicken sandwich. I'll definitely be taking my family and friends when they come up here for a visit.
