Montana has long been the backdrop for Westerns and a place some in the movie industry call home. Over the last few years, Montana has only grown in popularity as more of the rich and famous have moved here, at least part-time.
What may surprise you though is the town that many in Hollywood are talking about.

Most would assume it's a place like Bozeman or even the area of Big Sky. However, it's neither of those two. No, the town that we're speaking of is about the furthest thing from glamourous that you can find in Montana.
Before we pull back the curtain, let's look at just a few of the celebrities who have moved to Montana.

Which Montana town is Hollywood falling in love with?
According to The New York Times, Hollywood can't get enough of Butte, Montana. As we said, Butte is about the furthest thing from Hollywood, but we do know that at least part of 1923 was filmed in Butte, and according to the article, those in the filmmaking business love the rugged background as well as the old architecture that can be found in Uptown Butte.
Listen, I think it's great that the city of Butte is having its time in the spotlight. I also think it's great for the local economy. What I'm not sure about is how "great" the locals think all of this.
The folks of Butte are a proud bunch with a blue-collar history and a toughness that makes them unique, I'm not sure how ready they are to embrace the Hollywood lifestyle. Like anything, there's excitement at first, but after a while, the newness wears off.
Plus, during the filming of 1823 there were times were streets were closed as well as certain parts of town, which I'm guessing didn't go over well with a lot of the locals.
However, a job is a job, and if these movies and shows are bringing money to town, is that a bad thing? I suppose only time will tell. And who knows, maybe Butte will become the new "it" town in Montana.
