Every year we hear about people’s opinions about where to live and where not to live. Mostly formed by the opinion of a local or locals that do not want their town invaded by newbies.

So when it comes to listing the most dangerous cities in Montana, I will refer to some stats and the ever so trusted internet. I looked at 2 different websites to make sure that there was at least some accuracy to the recently released 2023 list.

Now both of these sites may not have agreed 100% on the order of the worst cities, perhaps stats taken from different websites, but they both DID have the same cities on each list with the exception of East Helena and Hamilton.

The Most Dangerous City in Montana according to Travel Safe is the same at Southwest Journal: Billings

As you can see, Billings typically doesn't fall in the most positive light. Don't let that totally deter you from the most populated city in the state. Billing's is full of great food, shopping, and events.

When booking your next trip to Montana, I highly recommend taking a drive to Billings and creating your own opinion. Heck, you can even stay a night, it does have reasonably priced hotels and short term rentals.
