This week's Tarantino's Player Of The Week is #25 Cody Kirk, running back from Frenchtown, MT.  Best of all?  He's a junior, so we get him back next year!Montana State (2012) Named Preseason All-Big Sky Conference.

(2011) Posted a breakout season, rushing for 1,351 yards and 14 touchdowns on the way to First Team All-Big Sky honors… earned Don Hass Most Inspirational Award… fourth on the team with 271 receiving yards and 23 catches… his 1,351 rushing yards is fifth in school history, his six 100-yard games was 10th in MSU history, his 241 rushes was ninth in MSU history… co-winner of MSU’s Chuck Karnop Toughness Award after spring drills… also earned a D’Agostino Family Strength Award.

(2010) Rushed for 142 yards as a redshirt freshman, emerging as the team’s short-yardage back late in the season… also an outstanding special teams player, whose six special teams tackles was tied for second on the team… earned MSU’s Ken Amato Kick Teams Coaches Choice Award... named the team’s Tom Parac Most Improved Offensive Player after spring drills.

(2009) Redshirted… named MSU’s Top Special Teams Scout Player for 2009.

 

High School An all-conference choice at Frenchtown… rushed for 1,739 yards on 147 carries as a senior.

Academics Enrolled in MSU’s University Studies program.

Personal: Born Cody Robert Kirk on September 5, 1990, in Missoula… one of four children of Tim and Connie Kirk… his uncle Tom Mahlum played football for the Bobcats (1981-85), while his brother Mac played at Carroll (2006-09) and currently coaches softball at Helena High.
