Spree of Gun Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles in Belgrade

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office has received approximately nine reports of firearms thefts from unlocked vehicles since June in the River Rock / Landmark subdivisions.  There have also been over 15 thefts from vehicles. The sheriff's office will be increasing its patrol presence but needs your help.

Here are some simple tips that can help you from being a victim:

• Always lock your vehicle.  The more you do it, the more it becomes a habit
• Always take valuables (Weapons) with you
• If you must leave them in the vehicle, place them in the trunk or out of sight in a secure case
• Take photos and/or keep records of your property
