5 Montana Innovators Taking Stage At MSU
One of my favorite things to listen to or watch on YouTube are TED Talks. The long open talks about new ideas, research, philosophy, and more are a great way to widen your knowledge and of course, ponder things. I often find myself watching these, and the next thing you know, I feel like I have a philosopher’s degree. Well, Montana has an event to look forward to if you enjoy things like this as well, and it’s happening this November on MSU’s campus.
Bozeman’s very own TEDxMontanaStateUniversity is back on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. inside Inspiration Hall at Norm Asbjornson Hall. The event wraps up with a small reception (and who doesn’t love snacks and good conversation). Tickets are easy on the wallet too — just $5 for students and $15 for the general public. Tickets are available online now HERE.
This year’s theme is “Forging New Paths,” and it’s a good one. The speaker lineup is packed with movers, shakers, and innovators who’ve lived some seriously inspiring stories. From Trent Berg, the brain behind Blackmore Sensors now leading lidar engineering at Aurora, to Bri Daniels, a cancer survivor and disability rights advocate redefining what mobility means.
You’ll also hear from Brian Gilman, a Marine-turned-CEO for Warriors and Quiet Waters, helping veterans find peace and purpose outdoors. Quinn Holland, an MSU grad changing the game in regenerative agriculture. Last but not least on the speaker list is Sarah Nell Harp, a current student who is using creativity to flip the script on failure.

Whether you’re into science, self-growth, or just need a little midweek inspiration, this event is sure to deliver. I will be purchasing a ticket myself, and if you are interested in this as well, bring a curious mind and get ready to think big!
