A scary accident yesterday (9/18/12) on Gallatin Tower.

At about 7:30 last night, someone called 911, with a report of a male rock climber that had fallen approximately thirty feet and had suffered a head injury.

The twenty five year old male was climbing on Gallatin Tower which is located at approximately mile marker sixty two on Gallatin Road.

The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office, Big Sky Fire Department and Gallatin County Search and Rescue responded to the scene.

Members of the Big Sky Fire Department hiked up to the patient and stabilized him until members of the Gallatin County Search and Rescue arrived.

The patient reportedly sustained a minor laceration on his head and possible fractures on his lower legs.

The patient was immobilized and brought a short distance by litter to an awaiting ambulance.

The patient was then transported to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital by the Big Sky Fire Department.

His name and current condition have not been released.
