Robbery and Chase End In Arrest – Suspect’s Name Released
32 year old Beronica Salas of Belgrade, has been arrested and charged with felony burglary.
The arrest was a result of a multi-agency response that started with a call from someone who saw suspicious activity at a home in the 2200 block of West Main, at the Wagon Wheel Trailer Court last night.
The citizen called police reporting a possible burglary in progress.
When an officer tried to stop a vehicle, matching the description of one leaving the area, a chase ensued.
Officers from Bozeman Police and Gallatin County initially pursued the vehicle, a white Chrysler.
When the vehicle left Bozeman city limits, the pursuit was conducted by Gallatin County, Montana Highway Patrol, and Belgrade Police.
The vehicle was eventually stopped on Thorpe Road west of Belgrade after a tire deflating device was used. Salas was the only occupant of the vehicle and was taken into custody.
Several of the item reported missing...a flat screen tv, XBox 360, laptop computer, and other items, were found in the suspect's car.
Salas was held without bond at the detention center pending her initial appearance.
Police also found footprints in the snow at the scene of the crime, that indicated another person had run away before the car pursuit.
The victim of the crime knows the suspect, but didn't give her permission to be in his house.
The investigation is ongoing and other arrests are possible.
