WooHoo! Construction season is in full force. This means we can expect delays on many different roadways throughout the area.

The latest roads involved will be Baxter Lane and East Valley Center Road. These two roads are already heavily traveled and we do have extra traffic in town with Music on Main, the Big Sky State Fair taking place, along with many other local events.

Today (Thursday, July 18th) crews will be applying chip seal and updating pavement markings.

According to the MDT release, the project on Baxter Lane will begin at the intersection of N 7th Ave and go to the junction of N 19th Ave.

East Valley Center chip sealing and pavement markings update will effect N 19th Ave and will extent about 2 miles NW to the intersection with Valley Spur Road.

If traveling these areas, keep in mind the delays could be up to 15 minutes long, so prepare accordingly, and use an alternate route when you can.

This roadwork should be expected to last approximately 2 weeks. During this time, the roads will be open, but will have traffic control in place, flaggers, rough roadway surfaces, and reduced speed limits.

Keep in mind the safety of the workers as you travel through these areas, follow the signs, and drive with care.
