Red Flag Warning Wednesday in the Bozeman Area
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Bozeman area today. The warning is from noon to 10 p.m. because of expected strong gusty winds and low humidity for fire weather.
Winds are expected to be between 25 and 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. This will make it difficult to contain any new fire starts on lower elevation grassy areas
that have dried out.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are
either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Along with the strong gusty winds, the weather is expected to mostly sunny today with highs near 90 in Bozeman.
