Montana’s full of oddities—some natural, some... man-made. And sometimes, those quirks come together in the most unexpected way. Case in point? A wild, wonderful mashup of one man’s lifelong collection of American history, odd treasures, and pure passion. We’re talking about the Miracle of America Museum in Polson, Montana.

Founded back in 1981 by Gil and Joanne Mangels, this non-profit set out to preserve American history—and let’s just say, mission accomplished in a big way.

You could easily spend two or three full days roaming the Miracle of America Museum’s massive indoor and outdoor exhibits. Unlike your typical museum that sticks to one topic like WWI or aviation, this place is an all-you-can-see buffet of history. We’re talking thousands of artifacts from all kinds of eras, packed into dozens of buildings—and yep, it’s open year-round.

Hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, seven days a week. Admission won’t break the bank either—just $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 2 to 12, and if they’re under 2? They’re in free.

Oh, and if you want a sneak peek before you make the trip, the museum has its own YouTube channel. It gives you a solid idea of just how big the place is and offers a glimpse at some of the jaw-dropping collections waiting for you in Polson.
