Most Married Couples Are Still In Love
Mike and I will celebrate our 10 year anniversary on September 1st. I am still madly in love with that man, and impressed that he still loves me!
Can't put into words why it works for us, but I do know that we have a ton of fun together, and take care of each other.
I found this information, and thought I would share it with you, because while we hear about the high divorce rate, it's nice to know that marriage still works!
84 percent of couples married a decade or more are still passionately in love. Researchers asked 274 married people to rate their level of affection for their spouse. Only around 1 percent said they were not at all in love. But a full 48 percent picked the highest level of ardor, "very intensely in love" -- including 40 percent of the respondents who had celebrated 10 years of marriage or more.
They found that the most intensely loving couples took the time to try new and challenging activities together, such as checking out a hot restaurant or taking a non-credit community college class.
A vibrant sex life can also help keep passion high in a marriage that's otherwise having a rough time, whether it's because money's tight or the kids are wearing you out.
What about you? What do you love most about your spouse?
