Montgomery Gentry Coming to Dillon
Montgomery Gentry will be in Dillon, Montana, on Sept 4th but this Friday night (Aug. 5), they packed as many songs as they could into a hit-filled 90-minute set at WE Fest. From start to finish, the duo had the crowd engaged and singing along.
"The party's here," Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry told the WE Fest crowd after playing "All Night Long" and "Lonely and Gone." Montgomery donned his usual big cowboy hat with a fancy black studded jacket, while Gentry kept it a little more casual in a tight tee and stylish aviators. They even had a few jokes for the crowd during "She Couldn't Change Me."
"You damn near got our a-- locked up last night," Montgomery said without even stopping their song, to which Gentry replied, "I'd do it again, too."
Things got patriotic when Montgomery Gentry celebrated our servicemen and women. They dedicated "Something to Be Proud Of" to our brave soldiers, then gave credit to the families that brought up the soldiers, dedicating "Roll With Me" to the parents of the soldiers.
The most interesting thing we learned during the duo's WE Fest set? That they don't enjoy being told no, especially after they've had a little alcohol in them. When their label told them they couldn't record "Speed," they basically told them they were going to do it anyway. Fans can chalk that recording up to the shots they took before talking to the label. MoGent know best, because the song became No. 5 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Fans were happy to stand and sing along for "Gone," "My Town," "Some People Change" and more MG favorites during the pair's WE Fest appearance. The 2016 festival closes out with Tim McGraw on Saturday night.
