I just read an article from mentalfloss.com about "The Best Breakfast Spot in All 50 States." I opened it hoping to read about one of Bozeman's great breakfast spots. It did list a great Bozeman restaurant as the best in Montana, but I was surprised by what it was.

The article went on to name Cafe Zydeco, which has four locations in Montana, as the best breakfast spot. I decided to go there this morning for breakfast to see what all the hype was about. They are a southern restaurant that offers dishes that feature craw fish, shrimp, and catfish. They only feature four breakfast items on their menu. I ordered the craw fish omelette, which is their signature breakfast dish. I'm not gonna lie, it was really good, but it was something that you have to be in the mood for. I've talked to a couple people who have eaten there, and they weren't even aware that they served breakfast. If you're looking for the best southern food in Montana, Cafe Zydeco might be the place, but not for breakfast. I've heard they have a great Po' Boy sandwich.

I have nothing against Cafe Zydeco, but I have to disagree. I can't speak for the entire state, but Bozeman has so many great breakfast spots, that it's nearly impossible to pick a favorite. I like different restaurants for different reasons. The Western is awesome. Main St. Over Easy is great. Storm Castle is really good. The Stockyard is not only delicious, but also very unique. Jam! is fun and modern. Nova is amazing. Cat Eye  is always tasty. Unknotted has a really cool vibe to it. The point is, they are all great for different reasons.

I feel like the person that wrote this article has never been to Bozeman, let alone Montana. They probably just googled "Breakfast in Montana" and picked the first result that popped up. Don't believe everything you read on the internet.
