Montana Zoo Welcomes New Super Cute Arrival
ZooMontana in Billings, which is the only zoo in the state, has welcomed it's newest fur baby. The zoo announced that the birth of a baby wolverine has taken place. The baby kit is only the third wolverine born at ZooMontana.
Ahmari, which is the baby kit's mom, is taking good care of the newest member of ZooMontana. The father, Sid, is keeping his distance until momma is comfortable and ready to let the baby kit be a bit more independent.
When wolverines are born they're blind, all white, and they typically weigh less than one pound. The momma's are very protective and they keep the baby kit to themselves until they start to feel more comfortable.
After weening for approximately 10 weeks, the kit should be adult size by the end of the year.
ZooMontana has around 100 different animals representing 58 different species. Boasting 70 acres, ZooMontana was opened in 1992 and has around 160,000 visitors per year. Maybe with the newest addition, that number will increase.
Ticket prices for the zoo are only $12 for adults, Seniors (Age 55 and Over): $10.00, Children (Age 3-15): $9.00, Children 2 and Under: FREE, Military (With Valid ID): $2.00 off Adult or Senior Admission, School and Nonprofit Group Rate: $5.00 - (Please note, school groups must call ahead to reserve, and pay in one transaction), Group Rate (12 or More): $8.00 , parking is free, and is open from 10-2pm daily.
Winter/spring/summer hours may differ. This is the perfect little family outing no matter the season. If you are visiting and looking for something fun and creative to do, ZooMontana is a great way to spend the day.
If you are heading to Billings, make sure to stop and check out ZooMontana, Montana's only zoo.
Welcome to the world little kit, everyone is very excited to meet and greet you!
