Montana Home Makes Top 10 For Most Expensive In America
If you're a Montana resident, you already know homes can be a bit pricey here in The Treasure State. With the average home price for the state double the national average, high home prices are nothing new here in Montana.
According to Zillow, the average home price in Montana is just over 450 thousand dollars.
Of course, 450 thousand is a drop in the bucket compared to the most expensive Montana home currently for sale. The home, which is located on its own private island is one of the 10 most expensive homes currently for sale in America.
If you haven't had a chance to see the home on Cromwell Island on Flathead Lake, it is a sight to behold. The property includes the main home, a guest home, a barge, a massive dock, and diesel generators that allow you to live off the grid for up to 6 months a year.
What is the asking price for your very own private Montana island?
Currently, they're asking 72 million for the property. Oh, and here's something else: the main house's interior is still a work in progress. As in, it's not finished. So after you drop the 72 mil, you still get to design and decorate the interior, which I suppose is. I mean, if you're spending that type of money, you probably want to have a say, on how it looks, right?
And while 72 million is a ton of money, it's not the most expensive home for sale in the United States, although the Montana property does make the Top 10. The 45 thousand square foot property is the 6th most expensive for sale.
How much is the most expensive home for sale in America?
That would be a 22 thousand-square-foot home located on the waterfront in Florida with an asking price of almost 300 million.
