Montana Ranks Near Bottom In America For This Ridiculous Poll

We have all most likely had this lame joke said to us at some point, to which most respond with, "good one" followed by an eye roll.

Apparently, Montanans are not as funny as they think they are. Don't get me wrong, I have met some really funny characters here so I am not sure I totally agree with this data released by Shiny Smile Veneers.

According to this, Montana is ranked 34th for America's Funniest States.

How do these people come up with these polls? I'm guessing they haven't spent a whole lot of time in Montana to get an accurate judgment call on whether we are funny or not.

Here is the breakdown:

• Residents per comedy special host city/filmed (only for the city; out of 20 points)
• Residents per top comedian (only for the state; out of 20 points)
• Residents per comedy festival (out of 30 points)
• Residents per comedy club (out of 40 points)
• Search volume per city/state (out of 10 points)

Considering we have the 4th largest state and a small population considering the size, I should be thrilled that we even made the top 34, but I find it hard to fathom that California and Massachusetts are funnier than good ol' Montana.

If you do think you are funny, you can always check out an open mic night and see if you get booed off of the stage. That will give you a clear indication of whether you should stay in Montana or move to a state that appreciates your humor more.
