National Chain Named Most Popular Grocery Store In Montana
For the 4th least populated state in the country, it seems Montana has lots of options when it comes to groceries.
Whether you prefer planting a garden, shopping at one of the many Farmers' Markets across the state, or your shopping leads you to more organic stores like Bozeman Co-op or the Good Food Store, you have lots of choices.
Big Sky Country has many local grocery stores, with one of the biggest being Town and Country Foods, with several locations around the state. Of course, we also have regional stores as well such as WinCo Foods and Rosauers.
However, when it comes to the most popular grocery store in Montana, that title goes to a national chain that has several locations across the Treasure State.

What is Montana's most popular grocery store?
So, which national grocery store took the top spot? Wal-Mart? Costco? What about Safeway or Whole Foods? According to CHCTravels, which looked at the data for all 50 states, when it comes to Montana, the most popular grocery store is Albertsons.
Currently, Albertsons has 30 locations across Montana, with 7 in Billings. Missoula has 4 stores, and Great Falls has 2. With over 2000 stores across the country, Albertsons is the second-largest supermarket chain in the country. It should be noted that half of those locations happened after the company merged with Safeway back in 2015.
