Dolly Parton Brings Love Of Reading To Montana
"I don't love Dolly Parton." - Said no one ever.
Dolly Parton is not only one of the most iconic stars of our time, but she is also one of the most giving. Dolly has racked up an impressive history of giving back from disaster relief, environmental conservation, and childhood literacy. Most of her philanthropic work is conducted through the Dollywood Foundation. Through its success, Dolly launched the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, established in 1995. The Imagination Library provides free books to children from birth to age five.
So, what does this have to do with Montana?
Montana's governor, Greg Gianforte, recently jumped on board to support Dolly's organization by declaring December 3, 2024, Montana's first official Dolly Parton Imagination Library Day. The proclamation's signing took place in Missoula and marked its power to change lives in Montana and beyond.
You Can Register Your Child For Free Books!
If you would like to register your child for the program, simply visit imaginationlibrary.com. The site will let you know if the program is available in your area and walk you through the registration process.
Currently, the program is available in both the Livingston and Bozeman areas. You must be the legal guardian of the child to receive the 1 book per month until age five.
Thank you Dolly!
The Imagination Library has donated a whopping 260 million books worldwide, and that number continues to grow. I have to admit that I am biased because Dolly Parton is one of my favorite humans of all time. Still, you must admit that this woman has given so much to others through her success.
