I grew up on comfort food.

Barbecue, mac and cheese, chicken-n-dumplings, biscuits and gravy. Just writing about it is making my mouth water. Of course, while comfort food might not be the healthiest thing you can eat, they call it comfort food for a reason. It makes us feel good.

Here in Montana there are several places that serve up delicious comfort food. Dishes like chicken fried steak, porkchop sandwiches, and all things huckleberries are well known comfort foods in Big Sky Country.

I love places like the Western Cafe in Bozeman, Follow Yer Nose in Emigrant, Matt's Place in Butte, and Marks In & Out in Livingston. Of course, there are tons of others places around The Treasure State.

But where can you find the best comfort food in the state?

While opinions will no doubt differ, according to one source, the best comfort food in Montana can be found just outside of Glacier National Park. Where is the best comfort food in Montana?

Millie's Montana Cafe was named the best comfort food in the state and when you take a look at the menu, it's easy to see why. With dishes like porkchop and eggs, chicken fried steak and eggs, biscuits and gravy (my personal favorite), and freshly made cinnamon rolls.

They also have burgers, sandwiches, salads and sometimes you can even score homemade mac and cheese. Of course, you can have comfort food without pie and Millie's offers both fruit and cream, plus they have cake, milkshakes, and sundae's.
