When Montana parents send their kids off to school most know that college is a place to get a little crazy from time to time, but they certainly hope they're safe while they're away.

We began to see a clear picture of what took place by breaking those down into categories:

  • Total Criminal Offenses - 128
  • Aggravated Assault - 9
  • Robbery and Burglary - 58
  • Violence Against Women - 23

Keep in mind that even though the University led the state in crime, it had the second-highest number of students enrolled. It should also be mentioned that this data is from a few years ago, so while those numbers may seem a bit alarming, the most recent data was not offered.

It should also be mentioned that Missoula is known as a party town and was recently named as the drunkest city in Montana and as mentioned above, this could certainly play a factor in some of the crimes that took place.
