The Most “Dangerous” College Campus In Montana Is…
When Montana parents send their kids off to school most know that college is a place to get a little crazy from time to time, but they certainly hope they're safe while they're away.
Crime on college campuses isn't anything new, I mean most college towns have multiple options for students to be "social" with several establishments that offer alcohol as well as other recreational "activities". Sometimes that includes making poor decisions.
However, according to recent data, one Montana school leads the state regarding crime.

The folks over at Check Video put in the research and looked at the data from colleges and universities across the country to determine which schools were the safest. Here in Montana, we have multiple colleges and universities, but when it comes to crime, one seems to be head and shoulders above the rest.

Which Montana school leads the state in crime?
According to the data, the University of Montana in Missoula is the school that has the most crime reported. Looking at the numbers, based on the data submitted the University of Montana had 299 total crimes.
We began to see a clear picture of what took place by breaking those down into categories:
- Total Criminal Offenses - 128
- Aggravated Assault - 9
- Robbery and Burglary - 58
- Violence Against Women - 23
Keep in mind that even though the University led the state in crime, it had the second-highest number of students enrolled. It should also be mentioned that this data is from a few years ago, so while those numbers may seem a bit alarming, the most recent data was not offered.
It should also be mentioned that Missoula is known as a party town and was recently named as the drunkest city in Montana and as mentioned above, this could certainly play a factor in some of the crimes that took place.
