When you think of a day in the life of a college student, you always tend to fall back on the stereotypes. The steady diet of ramen noodles and late nights partying. But, what if your college courses had a curriculum about brewing beer and not just drinking beer? I mean, C'mon man! What college student is not considering themselves somewhat of an expert when it comes to the topic of beer?

What if I was to tell you that there is a Brewing Academy here in Montana? A college course that gives you hands on experience in the ancient art of making "barley pop." There is such a place, and it is located in Kalispell. The Flathead Valley Community College has been offering up the brewing academy for a few years now.

According to NBC Montana

The Academy offers a one-year certificate and a two-year Associate degree in beer brewing science and brewing operations.

Students take lab classes in chemistry, biology, microbiology and get a basic overview of business.

They learn recipe development.

With the amount of breweries popping up seemingly everywhere. It shouldn't take much to find a job after you complete the course. In fact, according to the Academy Program Director Joe Byers"Of the eight breweries in this valley, we have graduates working at five of them," he said. "So, the job opportunities are there. And those that have a more entrepreneurial spirit there's always room for another neighborhood brewery."

So why not pursue that career of brewing beer? Bringing happiness to the world 16 ounces at a time.
