For those of you who are expecting, let me say congratulations. I'm told being a parent is the hardest job you'll ever love.

Since I'm not a parent myself, I don't have a whole lot of expertise to share with you, other than make sure you pick a proper name. For many, names are something that are passed down. That wasn't the case in my family. I once asked my Dad how they came up with my name (Derek) and he told me that there was a guy that made movies named John Derek and he really enjoyed them. I later learned that most of Mr. Derek's movies were naughty in nature.

Of course, every generation has "popular names".

I grew up with a whole lot of Chad's and Shawn's. In recent years, some of the more old fashioned names have come back around. Names like Olivia and Harry are one again gaining traction, but what about Montana? What names are popular here in Big Sky Country?
