Montana Addiction Rates One Of The Highest In The Country

Addiction can destroy a life, a family, and a state. Montana ranks incredibly high in the U.S., in fact, they are in the top 2.

A study from Universal Drug Store came out with the most addicted states in the U.S., and only one state has more of an addiction problem then our beautiful Montana. Now, addiction can stem from many different things. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, to even caffeine, so we wanted to know what exactly is pushing Montana to the top.

This study shows that Montana has the 2nd highest addiction rate to smoking and alcohol, scoring a 6.9/10. But what does that number mean and how did the scoring work?

Montana ranked in the top 15 for smoking rates, illicit drug use and excessive alcohol consumption, the latter of which they ranked third, with 24% of the population drinking alcohol excessively. -Universal Drug Store
