Bairs has a long history in the Gallatin Valley. Bair's Truck Stop first opened in Bozeman in 1962 and remained open until 1978. The original truck stop was located on N. 7th Ave. in Bozeman where UHaul is today. Bair's relocated to Belgrade following the completion of Interstate 90. Here's a picture provided by the Gallatin History Museum. The exact date of the postcard is unknown.

Since the restaurant was located inside a truck stop, it was a place where truck drivers could get a warm meal after spending long hours on the road. Prior to 2020, the restaurant was the only place in the Gallatin Valley where you could get a meal 24 hours a day. Bair's has been around for over 60 years, and we're sad to see it gone forever.
