Unofficial Networks announced the City of Missoula and Missoula County have bought the rights to Marshall Mountain. The city of Missoula and the county have pledged funds from grants, donations, and money to refurbish the mountain and get it up and running.

Marshall Mountain opened to the public in the 1950s and expanded over the decades. The mountain dealt with low snowfall for years, and with dwindling funds, the ski area closed during the 2000s.

The City of Missoula and Missoula County plan on adding a new lodge, lifts, runs, and updating the equipment. The master plan is to have the mountain functional and running within the next two years.

This addition means Missoula will have three ski areas for locals to enjoy. Missoulians have Snowbowl and Lost Trail during the winter, but Marshall Mountain will be a great addition.
