Beaverhead, Madison, and Gallatin Counties are under flood watch until late Tuesday. This also includes locations along the Big Hole River near Melrose and the Jefferson River near Three Forks.

Heavy rain between Monday afternoon and Tuesday evening could lead to widespread flooding in southwestern Montana. Rapidly rising rivers and streams could cause problems for outdoor enthusiasts. Rock slides and mud slides are possible over mountain passes.

A Flood Watch means there is potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
