A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through this evening.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls has expanded the Flash Flood Watch to include a portion of southwest Montana,  including   the following areas... Gallatin... Jefferson and Madison through this evening.

Thunderstorms producing heavy rain will move through southwest Montana this afternoon and evening. Heavy rainfall could cause flash flooding and debris flows in and near burn scars from last years wildfires.

These include the 19 mile fire in Jefferson County... the Pony and Bear Trap fires in Madison County... and the millie fire in Gallatin County.

Those living near burn scars should have a plan of action ready and move immediately to safety should heavy rainfall develop.
