Montana has a rich history.

From pioneers and trappers to legendary battles, here in Big Sky Country we certainly have a story or two. Montana has been considered "The Last Best Place" for decades and while it's certainly not the oldest state in the U.S. it's one of the biggest and most important.

Montana is home (at least partially) to the oldest National Park in the Country. Between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks, more than 7 million people from all around the world visit Montana each year. We're also known for our world-class fly fishing and are home to the biggest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River.

Montana is a place where the wildlife live amongst the people. Some of our more popular furry creatures include Bears, Mountain Lions, Bison, Elk, Moose, and Deer among many others.

Did I mention all of the outdoor winter activities?

We've got ski resorts, huge sledding hills, and tons of hot springs that are enjoyed all year long. However, that doesn't mean that we don't have a quirk or two. Looking over our history as a state, you'll come across a few things that might raise an eyebrow or two.
