Suspect in Thursday’s High-Speed Chase in Court Friday
Maurice Myers is the man charged with leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase through the Bozeman area on Thursday. Myers was in Gallatin County Court Friday morning charged with:
- Felony theft
- Assault with a weapon
- Felony endangerment
- Possession of dangerous drugs
- Tampering with evidence
Myers was apparently in possession of a stolen vehicle when officers arrested him in Big Sky. They attempted to stop him in Belgrade before he allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase from Belgrade, down Jackrabbit, and up to Big Sky. He was eventually apprehended on Lone Mountain Road near Big Sky.
His bail has been set at $1 million in Gallatin County Justice Court.
This is not the first time Myers has been involved in a high-speed chase. Court documents say that Myers admitted to attempting to elude officers on numerous occasions while driving at speeds over 120 mph.
His court order lists his primary residence as Helena, Montana.
