Craig Morgan Gives Up His Hair to Raise $1,200 for Charity
It’s been a few years since Craig Morgan fans were treated to a new album, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been busy — in fact, in between working on his next record, he’s been hard at work raising money for charity.
And now he’s got the shaved head to prove it.
As part of a fundraising effort for Billy’s Place, an organization benefiting temporarily displaced children in his Tennessee hometown, Morgan auctioned off his own hair, giving the winner the opportunity to take a set of clippers to his head. The top bidder, NFL agent Robb Nelson, paid $1,200 for the privilege — which isn’t chump change, but still isn’t as much as the custom dirt bike that fetched $12,000.
The auction is only the latest in a series of good works Morgan has led for Billy’s Place. Over the last couple of years, he’s raised more than $50,000 for the group. Meanwhile, he signed with Black River Music Group earlier this year, and is currently assembling his full-length debut for the label.
