Outside the Bridger Bowl Ski Area, on Saddle Peak, an 18 year-old male snowboarder from Vermont wondered out-of-bounds Tuesday afternoon.

The snowboarder was found gripping a tree above a nearly 150-foot cliff. Sheriff's Search and Rescue skiers arrived on scene and used a rope system to lower him to the bottom of the cliff.

Once he was successfully lowered and found that he had no injuries, he was escorted back to the ski hill by Bridger Bowl Ski Patrol.

This incident is an extra reminder to never travel out-of-bounds and Sheriff Gootkin reminds you to familiarize yourself with the area before you venture out.
