This weekend's weather will be a preview of what is coming our way soon. With fall just a few weeks away, the weatherman is calling for . . . get ready for it . . . snow above the 6,500 foot level in the mountains for the Continental Divide, as well as Glacier Park.

Now, it's not a lot of snow, probably just an inch or two. But it's definitely a reminder that the current season will soon be changing and that winter-like weather is not far off. The Farmer's Almanac is predicting that Montana will see frigid temps (isn't that true every winter?) and above-average snowfall. Western Montana, however, could be warmer than normal.

In a typical year, Bozeman receives about 91 inches of snow, and the season typically begins about the time the kids are picking out their Halloween costumes. That means we have about 6-8 weeks to soak up as much sunshine and warm temps as we possibly can.

Here's the forecast for the Bozeman area this weekend:

Friday - Sunny, Temps around 81

Saturday - Sunny, Temps around 86

Sunday - Partly Cloudy (slight change of some rain around 11a), Temps around 60.

Monday - Cloudy, Temps in 50s.
