Is Bozeman Starting To Lose Some Of It’s Appeal?

For the last few years, Bozeman has been the "It" town in Montana.

While the town has been on the radar for the last several years, folks really started to take notice during the pandemic with people moving to town and buying up real estate at prices way above market value. Of course, while that was fantastic for sellers and real estate agents, it wasn't great for locals looking to buy a home.

However, things might be starting to change in what was once the "fastest-growing city in America", and for many locals, it's great news.

It's not a secret that several areas of Montana aren't the biggest fans of Bozeman or as many of them refer to it "Boz Angeles". The once cowboy town has become more resort-like over the last few years with high-rise condos and stores lining Main Street that cater more to out-of-staters and tourists than the locals who live here.

Many feel while there is still some "Old Bozeman" left, it seems like it decreases a little bit every day. While growth is great for the economy, it's not always great for the residents of the town.

So are things starting to change? It looks like that could be a real possibility according to some. A recent report stated that housing prices are starting to drop a bit and while that doesn't mean that the average Bozemanite can now run out and buy a home, it's a positive sign that maybe things are starting to turn around for the locals for once.

Does that mean that the growth taking place will stop? Not at all. People will continue to come to Bozeman for several reasons, however, maybe the town will be able to catch their breath as things slow down which isn't a bad thing at all.
