Bobcat Season Ends in Fargo; Lose to N. Dakota State 42-14
The Montana State Bobcats saw their season come to end against a team that hasn't lost in 36 games. The North Dakota Bison continue their undefeated season (15-0) by defeating the Bobcats 42-14 in the Fargodome on Saturday. The Bison will now play in the FCS Championship game against the winner of Weber State vs James Madison.
North Dakota State scored on their first drive of the football game to go up 7-0. And while the Bobcats would eventually tie up the game in the 2nd quarter at 7-7 on a Travis Jonsen 1-yard TD run, it would be all N. Dakota State after that. The Bison would score on a 75-yard TD pass on their next play, and then on a 70-yard TD run on the first play of their next series to take control of the game.
The Bison rolled up 541 total yards on the day, Montana State 298 yards. The Bobcat running game, which was the backbone of the MSU offense all season, averaged only 3.8 yards per carry.
The Bobcats end the season with an 11-4 record and one game short of the National Championship game.
