Growth is nothing new for Bozeman, but now community members may see some huge possible growth for Belgrade as well and it seems as though residents are 50/50 when it comes to the excitement of the growth.

A huge distribution center is hoping to break ground in Belgrade in the next couple of weeks. The 200-acre development along Jackrabbit Lane can be found between Cameron Bridge Road and Frank Road.

One of the businesses that plans to take up a huge portion of that development is an Amazon distribution center. Amazon has hopes of building a 53,000-square-foot distribution center along with other retailers, including a grocery store.

If the plan is approved by the Belgrade City Council, other phases of the project not only include numerous other retailers but also room for residential growth as well. The intentions of this development is to bring more job opportunities to Belgrade along with giving residents more shopping options.

Not only is there talk of this new development, but also of new stop lights being added on Jackrabbit and side streets being improved to help drivers get in all directions quicker.

This development is just one of the seven new commercial building permits and 115 new single-family building permits that have been issued since the beginning of 2024. The new development has yet to be 100% approved BUT if it is approved by the Belgrade City Council, they could break ground in the next couple of weeks.

Updates will be given after the Belgrade City Council decides whether to move forward with the development that includes the Amazon Distribution Center.
