Belgrade

Positioned just a few miles outside of Bozeman, Belgrade, Montana has experienced substantial growth in the last decade and is currently the largest city in Montana that is not the seat of its county.

Belgrade has long been considered a more affordable alternative to Bozeman, making it a quiet, comfortable suburban hub for commuters to its larger sister city. With the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport positioned at its outskirts, a 4,800 seat events center, and the Gallatin Speedway, Belgrade has become a major destination for local sporting events and travel for the area.

According to the 2010 census, 7,389 people lived in the city of Belgrade. However, the surrounding 59714 ZIP code has an estimated 22,000 people as of 2020 - a massive increase in population in a decade. While clearly benefiting from the economic growth in the area, Belgrade has also become an attractive community all on its own. Thanks to steady housing construction, more affordable housing options, and an increase in commercial development, life in Belgrade is as convenient as it is affordable.

The Belgrade School District #44 covers seven schools ranging from pre-K through 12th grade and the largest being Belgrade Elementary School (2,458 students) and Belgrade High School (1,001 students). Due to the rapid growth in the community, several other alternative and specialized schools have been introduced to better serve Belgrade students.

Belgrade is governed by a mayoral/council system. Mayors are elected by a citywide vote and have executive powers throughout the Belgrade city limits. A city council is also elected each cycle and represents citizens across three distinct city wards.

Despite its rapid growth and economic development, Belgrade remains a small-town, tight-knit community that welcomes newcomers and long-time residents alike.
