Two Meteor Showers Will Be Visible in Montana Monday Night

Stargazers should be able to witness a spectacular show Monday night.

According to the American Meteor Society, two separate meteor showers, the Delta Aquarids and the Alpha Capricornids, will peak on the night of Monday, July 29. Weather permitting, we should get a good show in Big Sky country.

The moon is only supposed to be 6% full, which means the skies will be dark enough to catch the celestial show. Partly cloudy skies are in the forecast for Monday night in the Bozeman area, which could prevent some stargazers from witnessing the event.

The Delta Aquarids is more visible in the Southern Hemisphere and Alpha Capricornids only produce up to five meteors per hour. While neither of the showers produce a large number of meteors, together they could produce 20-25 meteors an hour.
