Top 5 Performances at Montana’s Under the Big Sky Festival
Country music fans from all over the country flocked to Whitefish, Montana for the Under the Big Sky Festival. The annual music festival is held at Big Mountain Ranch in Whitefish.
I recently returned from my summer vacation, which included a trip to the Under the Big Sky Festival. The venue for the festival is unlike any other major festival in the country. It takes place on a privately-owned ranch that is surrounded by thick forest and stunning mountain peaks.
Music fans travelled to the Under the Big Sky Festival from places like Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Maine, among others. Planning a festival as large as UTBS in a place like Whiteish isn't an easy task. I have been to every UTBS Festival since its inception in 2019. Each year, it seems to get more organized and everything runs a little more smoothly.
The parking situation was less than ideal in previous years, but it seems that festival organizers were able to find a solution. Parking was a breeze this year. There were also more water stations that helped festival-goers stay hydrated during the festival.
Each year, the lineup includes a number of local Montana artists as well as artists that are more mainstream. This year, headliners included Turnpike Troubadours, Lord Huron, and Cody Jinks. The Turnpike Troubadours recently reunited following a 2-year hiatus.
Official attendance numbers haven't been released, but there were definitely a lot of people in Whitefish for the festival.
I thoroughly enjoyed the festival this year and was introduced to a variety of great artists. With such an incredible lineup, it was difficult to narrow down a list of my five favorite performances.
