What Are The Tallest Buildings In Montana?
With all the construction happening these days and skyscrapers going up left and right, it sure makes you feel grateful to live in Montana. Life out here still moves at a pace you can breathe in, and let's be honest, if you're living in Montana, it's probably not because you love high-rises and bumper-to-bumper traffic.
We've only got a handful of places like Billings, Bozeman, or Missoula that even come close to what you'd call a city, and even then, they have buildings standing proud from the 1800s.
But it got me thinking... while we might not have massive skylines, what actually are the tallest buildings in Montana? Let's take a look at what tops the charts in Big Sky Country.
The Double Tree
Completed in 1980, the Double Tree in Billings proudly holds the title of the state's second-tallest building. Even though it comes in second overall, it's the tallest load-bearing brick structure in the world. That, ladies and gentlemen, is a record officially recognized by the Brick Institute of America. First Interstate Center
Topping the list as the tallest building in Montana is the First Interstate Center in Billings. Standing 272 feet tall with 20 stories, it's not just the biggest in the state—it still holds the title for the tallest building in the entire Northern Rockies. Built back in 1985, it's been towering over downtown Billings ever since.
