As a lesson of "serious injuries can happen anywhere", a hiker was seriously injured not terribly far from the Hyalite Reservoir parking lot.

Most people have hiked or biked to the popular lakes just outside of Bozeman such as Mystic Lake, Lava Lake and Hyalite Reservoir, but what about these other cool bodies of water?

These blue-green algae commonly look like pea soup or grass clippings found on the top of the water.

The road to Hyalite has been closed to vehicles since April 1st to allow the road time to thaw and the snow to melt off.

Yesterday (Feb 22, 2013)  afternoon at 4:25 p.m. the Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injured snowboarder in the area South of Hyalite Reservoir. Sheriff’s Search & Rescue, Rae Sourdough Fire and AMR responded to the call.

On Saturday night, (February 09, 2013) at 10:35PM, The Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting two overdue backcountry skiers.

Fire resources continue to work diligently on the Millie Fire to keep the fire within the established perimeter; with the objective to keep the fire south and west of Cottonwood Creek. Helicopters will continue to work in areas where the use of ground resources are unsafe; at other times assisting firefighters when needed...

Another year of exciting camp activities are in store for 9-13 year olds! You don't even have to currently be enrolled in 4-H to attend!! This year's 4-H Summer Camp will be held again at the Hyalite Youth Camp on Tuesday, June 21 through Friday, June 24, 2011.

From April 1st until May 15th Hyalite Road will be closed to motorized vehicles while all that snow that has piled up all winter melts.
