IT'S JWP BABY!!

Mark your calendars! September 10th, one of my favorite bands will be coming to Lolo Hot Springs, (a quick 3-hour jaunt from Bozeman). This band, I can not say enough great things about. I first started following them and listening to them 11 years ago, and I am still addicted TO THIS DAY. If you love, Reggae, Ska, Electric beats, and all-around GREAT jams, you will want to see JWP! I have seen them numerous times, and every time is BETTER!

Based out of the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Jon Wayne and The Pain (JWP), is a 4 person band. Their music is catchy and before you know it, you are dancing along. Trust me, I have been that girl. Using all their struggles in life, from addiction to losing friends, to balancing life and road life, these guys take their life experiences and create ridiculously awesome songs. Erik S., our mutual friend, who took his life a few years back, introduced me to JWP. I will forever be grateful for him to show me into the life of this band. I got to see the experiences, the hectic travel life, finding places to stay in between shows. I know when JWP passes through ND to get to MT, they will pause for a minute and think about Erik.

Jon Wayne, the band's songwriter, has gone through hell and back, drugs, alcohol, rehab, and finally, sobriety. Seven trips to rehab and he finally made the last trip, the final one. Author, Thom Wilder, wrote of Jon's journey in, "One More Trip". Jon opens up about his real-life struggles, his falls, his fails and ...his success. One of the kindest people I have ever met, Jon really has the strength, mentally and physically, that can make an imprint on anyone's life. You can purchase his book here, it really is great!

STUNNING: Nighttime photos show the Milky Way over 9 national parks and monuments

Colorado is home to four national parks and eight national monuments. Our neighbors to the west, Utah, boasts five national parks and seven national monuments. Also within reach are the parks and monuments of New Mexico and Arizona.

If you're the road-trip type, they're all reachable in a day's drive from Colorado.

While the majority of tourists visiting these parks only witness the phenomenal views during the day, there's a sight to be seen under the stars.
