Is it possible to be too noisy at a football game? With 5:42 remaining in the third quarter and Toledo holding a 21-17 lead against Central Michigan during this weeks game, the referee stopped play as the Rockets were about to run a play.

Because the crowd was being too loud. WHAT!

The ref got on his mic and told the band and cheerleaders to stop trying to interrupt the snap.

But it’s not the first time. I remember a number of years ago the Jets were playing the Lions, the crowd was loud and the ref “thought” he could quite them down. Needless to say, it doesn’t work.

Never tell a rowdy crowd what they can’t do, the reverse always seems to happen.
