I've lived in Bozeman since 2007 and always thought that the Baxter Hotel sign was awesome.  But I never understood why it wasn't lit up.  Well that is about to change!  The tallest building in Bozeman will be shinning bright again soon.

Bozeman, Mont. (January 2, 2013) The Baxter invites you to attend “Relighting History.” Join the celebration as Senator Max Baucus, the Bozeman Area Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Bozeman Partnership, and The Baxter relight the historic “Hotel Baxter” sign.

The restoration project of the 45-foot-wide, metal neon sign, erected in 1929 is finally complete. The long extinguished glow remembered by few, and now excitedly anticipated by many, will return to its former glory on Bozeman’s tallest building. The collaboration of David Loseff and Lauren Marvel of The Baxter, Ole Nelson of Media Station Design Works, Rob Pertzborn of Intrinsik Architecture, and Darren Dust of Treasure State Signs, fashioned the sign to shine once again after what has been estimated, at least 40 years.

The celebration will take place Thursday, January 10th, 2013 at 5:30pm at The Baxter. Reception to follow with beer, wine, and appetizers served in The Baxter’s Grand Ballroom.
