I'm not sure if the person that complained about it on Reddit was serious, but we certainly hope not. Regardless, we felt the need to defend the Cateye Cafe.

A picture of the "rules" listed on the menu at the Cateye Cafe has been getting a lot of attention on Reddit. On Thursday, u/cinderstock posted a picture of the menu with the following caption;

These "rules" at a cafe. Way to shame your patrons.

The comment at the bottom of the picture says it all. The post has since been deleted, but the comments defending the Cateye Cafe were great while they lasted.

We were dumbfounded when we saw it. I mean honestly, who complains about a restaurant menu? I can understand complaining if you had a negative experience, but complaining about words written on a menu is a little absurd. In the age of social media, a lot of people use various platforms to complain about things. Many times, those complaints can be damaging to the reputation of a local business.

We reached out to the Cateye Cafe for a statement, and here's what Sugar, who has been a server at the restaurant for 14 years, had to say:

The Cateye Cafe is one of the oldest family-owned businesses in Bozeman. We gratefully, confidently, and lovingly make all of our food from scratch. We strive to endure that all of our customers are well fed and satisfied with their experience. Our goal is to have fun, and if you're offended by the rules on our menu, then you've completely missed the point. We'd love to see you soon.

The Cateye Cafe is family owned and has been serving up delectable food for the last 20 years. The restaurant is owned by the Caracciolo family. In all of my years of eating at the Cateye, I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience. Personally, I enjoy the "rules" on the menu. I think that they're hilarious and I appreciate the fact that the owners have a great sense of humor.
