One of the best parts about living in Montana, especially around Bozeman, is having the Museum of the Rockies right in your backyard. It is an easy go to for families, and there is always something new to check out with rotating exhibits and events. Montana has a long history of dinosaur discoveries, so it is no surprise the museum leans heavily into that world.
Now there is a big event coming up that dinosaur fans of all ages will want to mark down. The 5th Annual Dinosaurs and MOR! Festival is happening March 27-29, with the main programming taking place March 28 and 29. It is two full days packed with hands on activities, expert speakers, and plenty of opportunities to dive into prehistoric life.
The festival has a strong lineup of paleontologists and scientists from across the country. Topics range from ancient ecosystems, fossilized footprints, to prehistoric predators.  Each presentation runs about 30 minutes and includes time for questions, so it is interactive and easy to follow.
There is also plenty for families. Kids can explore activity stations, handle real materials, and work their way through a paleo passport program. Complete all the stops, and they will earn a junior paleontologist certificate signed by one of the museum’s experts.
