It's a borrowed phrase we use at our house when it's about to hit the fan. Wind chill values of -20 to -40 are expected for most of Montana through Wednesday.

I have three words for you: Engine. Block. Heater. If for some odd reason you don't know what that is, Montana might not be the place for you this week.

Keep a good eye on the pets for the next couple of days. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them. (Not to mention their outside water bowls are generally useless. If they're appropriate for your needs, heated bowls are available, FYI.)

Dangerously cold wind chill factors are affecting just about the entire state of Montana. Frozen pipes, slow to start car batteries and frostbite are all very serious issues we'll be facing this week through Wednesday.

KEEP IN MIND THE DANGERS OF DRIVING: Even if road conditions get better with less ice, etc., it's not a bad idea to avoid unnecessary trips. If anything should happen to you or your vehicle in this kind of cold, it become a MUCH MORE SERIOUS problem than it would be under normal circumstances.
